T - Time
I'm grateful for this time Dave and I have right now to travel and not work. I realize that this is a huge blessing and I know that this season of time won't last forever so I'm cherishing it right now.
H - Husband
I'm thankful for Dave. Living abroad can be hard and this past year Dave has been a rock for me. He has been a listening ear, a laughing friend and has given me some godly and sound advice during hard times.
A - Aunt
I'm thankful to be an Aunt. The newest member of our family arrived on October 30th while we were in Malaysia. It's a girl and her name is Alba Ruth, named after both of the grandmothers, and she is just the sweetest thing.
N - New Beginnings
I'm thankful that as each chapter in our lives closes a new one begins. I'm looking forward to seeing what God will write in this new chapter.
K - Kids
I'm thankful for the kids I got to work with this past year. One kid in particular taught me a lot about life. Her name is Sweet and she knows no strangers, she gets a tissue and gives you a hug if you cry and she is everyone's friend. I hope to be more like that.
F - Friendships
I'm so thankful for friendships. I'm grateful I have a community of women that I can share anything and everything with.
U - U as in YOU
I'm thankful for you! I'm thankful that you read my blog and that you have walked through this past year with me. Your encouragement means a lot.
L - Lights
I'm so thankful for lights and for power. The power in Myanmar wasn't consistent and I never before thought to be thankful that lights actually come on when I hit the switch.

This is a great list! Travel is fun, and I'm glad you're able to enjoy some after your teaching year. I always think it sounds amazing to take that much time to not work and just travel! My vacations are usually over a long weekend :) I love Sweet! She's precious. In sure you will miss those kids.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny the little things we can put on our thankful lists, right? Lights, electricity - something we definitely take for granted until it's not there! I try to thank God for these little things often.
ReplyDeleteHi Beka! I really like what you came up with! TIME is indeed a blessing! That's awesome that you and your husband can travel right now! You are in Myanmar/Burma, right now? I am learning more about this culture since I am helping a group of women who are teaching English to Burmese women (I babysit the several children of the students so they don't distract their mums from learning). What are y'all doing there (business, vacation, ministry, etc)? NEW BEGINNINGS are blessings for sure! I just got married last month and moved from Oregon to Texas, so there are a lot of new things to get adjusted to, but it is such a sweet season!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with Kiki and I during this months The Circle!
I gotta do this! I love it. Being an Auntie is the best thing in the world! Lights, that is definitely something that I take for granted. We are so spoiled here in America and I know I take a lot of it for granted. I love hearing all of your stories from your travels!
ReplyDeleteWait, a little sweetheart NAMED Sweet who is seriously the sweetest? Sounds like one amazing girl and a little one I'd love to meet, too!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm so glad you mentioned new beginnings. I'm a girl who's terrible with change and tentative about new beginnings so it's great to be reminded about how exciting those times can be. I'm excited to see what God has in store for you, too! :)
Thanks for linking up!
I love how you guys did this with the letters! So sweet!
ReplyDeleteBeing an aunt is awesome! And I too am a big fan of new beginnings! I am new to your blog, and look forward to getting to know you more! Blessings!
