Dear Weekend, I'm looking forward to going home and seeing family. I know we visit home a lot but it's so nice. Dear Half Marathon, ha ha ha! My longest run consisted of a whopping 5 miles but I'm hoping crossfit will make up for some of that. Although I'm not completely ready I'm still pumped to run through my hometown. Dear Kristen, I randomly met you in Kansas City and you took me under you wing during my first half marathon and helped me finish. That was almost 3 years ago. This week you were my first customer on my Etsy shop. THANK YOU! Dear Dave, your birthday is this coming week. You will be the big 29. I'm looking forward to celebrating with you. Dear Americans and Christians, I know so many are in panic mode about the government shutdown but please remember God is on his throne and He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Do your part as an American to help changes occur but don't forget our ultimate security is in Him and not in any government.

Friday’s Letters

Dear Blog and Blogtember, sorry you got so neglected this week. A major cold and respiratory infection overtook my life and didn’t allow energy for blogging. Dear Work Spouse, your wedding turned out beautiful and you were a gorgeous bride. Welcome to marriage, a life blessing from God. 

Dear Dave, you were the most handsome wedding date ever. Thanks for wearing a suit (your least favorite clothing to wear) for me two times this past weekend. I love hearing you share God’s Word and am thankful for His work in your life. 

Dear American Children, I enjoy working with you at church and I already love you but holy cow you are so different than Asian kids! If you were in Asia you would have some major time out with Justin like this….

Dear Thunderstorm, seeing you roll in was be-a-u-tiful! I’m amazed at the things God creates and allows us to see. 

Dear Isaac, I’ll write more about you on my life update next week but you already wiggled your way into my heart and are like another nephew to me. You cracked me up this week when you got a kick from staring at yourself in the mirror. Dear Weekend, yippee! Hooray! Holler! I’m so looking forward to you. Dave and I will be in Wichita seeing family, my sister and nephew.

Dear Mt. Wheeler, thanks for only being 8 miles instead of 14. I think a 13,000 ft. mountain is a good reintroduction to mountain climbing. Dear Sister, I'm beyond thrilled that you are coming to visit for the weekend. Don't let this small town fool ya, a fun schedule is in order: roller blading, crossfit (bring a friend day, whoop! whoop!) and a local concert by a fantastic artist.  Dear Static, you are super cute and all, but please, quit eating bathroom trash as well as the whole bag of cat food when I'm gone. Dear Crossfit, this week I got my first open blister and as much as I never wanted one, I earned it! I PR'd my dead lift and couldn't of been happier. I have some awesome crossfit friends who cheered me on and pushed me. Thanks!!! Dear Woodward, this week I was driving down the road and it hit me that after living here 6 months it felt like a familiar place and like my 'temporary home'. Don't get me wrong some of your weird OK cultural is still odd to be but I'm getting used to it. Dear Dave, Thanks for helping me hike up a big mountain and for going 'Beka pace' even if it did slow you down by 1 1/2 hours. You're the best. Dear Sandy, Can I just say how glad I am I wore the Korean scarf you bought me up this mountain!!! I neglected to pack a jacket or a long sleeve shirt for the top of the mountain and the coldness was extreme. The scarf was my saving grace, so thanks!

Dear New Camera, I like you a lot. However learning you is like learning a foreign language. no entiendo. I've read a portion of the manual but I still don't quiet understand all the photography lingo. Anyone have any good tutorials they'd like to recommend?

Dear Static and Milo, Thanks for letting me take lots of pictures of you with my new camera this week. You were quiet entertaining. 

Dear Static, you love swimming with your whole little dog heart but when it comes to taking a bath, well, you shake and act like death is knocking on your door. 

Dear Work Spouse, Helping plan and host your bachelorette party turned out grand. I'm looking forward to seeing you as a bride and look forward to having another married friend.

Dear BFF, I know you love attention and all but getting viral meningitis just isn't the way to go about that. I'm glad you are ok and that it wasn't too serious. Dear Labor Day Weekend, Yay for holidays. Dave and I will be heading to the Great Sand Dunes as well as Taos, NM to hike Mt. Wheeler. We will also be camping and taking Static with us. Dear Dave, telling me in a casual voice that we will just be hiking 14 miles in one day makes me laugh and it makes my legs scared at the same time... ha! I hope Static and I can keep up with you.

Fridays Letters . 3

Dear Blog Readers, Thank you for reading and spending some time on my blog! I'm at 10,000+ views and can't wait to write and share more. I have some new things planned for this little ole' space of mine, so stay tuned. Dear Blog, designing you is a lot.of.work. When I figure something out (like my new blog header) I wanted to do a big happy dance. I'm determined to learn more on DIY blog design.

Dear Becky and Byron, Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I hope your big day is everything you want it be plus more. Dave and I love you and are happy to celebrate with you. Dear Weekend, I'm looking forward to you. I can't wait to have a date with Dave at a new coffee shop in Wichita. Also, at the wedding this weekend, it will be Dave and I's first time to officially dance together. Dear Crossfit and Running, this week went much better than last week. I managed not to throw any temper tantrums and I could actually walk, sit and move normal instead of hobbling around like last week. Some of your intense workouts push me to my limits but I feel like a million bucks when I'm done.  Dear Kindys in Korea, I got to Skype with you on my birthday and it topped off my day. You were all screaming loud as usual and were as cute as ever. You have grown and some of you have lost some teeth. I never thought I'd miss you like I do!

Dear Jin, You completely surprised me! You were one of the sweetest kids I taught last year but when you saw me on Skype you were disappointed that the 'surprise' was me and not candy and toys. Don't worry though ... they are in the mail and on the way! Good thing you are so cute.

Dear Weekend - I'm excited to head back to Wichita for you. It will be a packed couple of days spent shopping, going to a baby shower, a bachelorette party and moving all my junk out of my parents house. It sounds so busy but I absolutely love seeing family and friends when we are home.                       Dear Slaughterfit, I mean Dear Crossfit, Your intense workouts kill me, every time but I love it. Thanks for the great workouts and for the great community you provide.

 

Dear Half-Marathon - Training for you starts next week. eeek! I can't say I'm looking forward to it but I'm hoping that with Crossfit and pushing myself I can get a PR when I run in October. Dear Dave and Ryan, I'm glad I could mountain bike, tour a cave, and hike with you this past weekend, but OUCH! You killed me and my legs and butt hurt so bad. 

Dear Chevron, After crafting chevron clutches, buying a chevron pillow and buying yellow chevron curtains you can not be just a come and go fad in my life. You are here to stay.

 Dear Woodward Farmer's Market, Although the Farmer's Market only has 4 pick-up trucks you provided me with jalapeños, poblano peppers, squash and tomatoes. Thanks! Dear Woodward - Although I had a slight massive emotional breakdown from all the life changes and moving to your small town, you have proved to be a very good city. Your kind people, fun boutiques and country life is something I'm grateful for. Dear Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church - Thanks for being such a great church who genuinely loves Jesus and others. I'm always amazed at the body of believers God puts around me no matter where I am and for that, I'm thankful.
